We all know that blogging can be challenging. With writing and networking, it can all be a bit overwhelming at times. On My Fashion E-Mall Blog, I try to offer resources that can make your blogging life easier so that you can concentrate on other important matters. So, today I’ve compiled a list of 15 Awesome Free Ways to Promote Your Blog. Check them out below:
1. Your Instagram Profile
If you don’t have an Instagram account, I strongly advise you to get started. With 300 million active users currently on Instagram, you should go and setup your profile and include your URL. Instagram allows you to have 1 clickable link so use it wisely and direct people back to your blog.
Send a blast to your subscribers each time you publish a new blog post. You can do this automatically with Aweber. Make sure you are sharing your posts with people who have signed up to receive your newsletter. Never ever spam!
3. Google+ Communities
I used this method constantly. Set up your Google+ page and start networking with other like minded individuals. The key is to find communities that are related to your particular niche and then share your blog posts. Some of these Google communities may not allow posts so your due diligence is important. Research and be sure to follow their rules
4. Facebook Groups/Live Video
Create your own Facebook Group and incorporate live video which Facebook is now giving the option to do. Let your subscribers know of an upcoming video.
If you don’t yet know what Pinterest is, check out the article What The Heck is Pinterest. You want to share your blog posts, repin and like other stuff offered by different pinners (people on Pinterest). Make your images sized at 735 pixels to 1100 pixels. The goal is to get your images re-pinned by others members as this can increase your views. Add a “Pin it” button to your blog so your readers can also pin your posts.
6. Twitter Hashtags
The use of hashtags on Twitter allow others to find your posts within that specific word. For instance if your blog post is about marketing, make sure you hashtag the word #marketing within your message. Others searching for marketing information may come across your post since you’ve included that hashtag in your tweet.
Sharing your blog posts on Twitter is a smart move. You should be tweeting your blog news a few times a day. However, make sure you don’t come across as a spammer. You should also be tweeting the content of others. Make your Twitter account a place where others list you as a go to person for beneficial information.
8. Twitter Chats
I’ve been invited to a couple of Twitter Chats but I’m yet to participate. However, that is something I intend to partake in the near future. When you join a Tweet Chat, it allows you to participate and chat about a specific topic. Most may even allow you to talk about your niche and promote yourself.
9. Add the Click to Tweet Plugin
Adding the Click to Tweet Plugin into your blog post can encourage more shares. Visitors can help promote your articles when they click on the plugin. You can personalize the text of your tweet by including a bit of coding within your blog post. You can include this plugin at the top of your post or at the bottom. I’ve even seen some in the middle of an article post. Once your reader clicks on the button, your pre-written tweet gets sent out automatically to their followers. Get your Click to Tweet Plugin today.
10. LinkedIn Publishing/Pulse
Back in February 2014, LinkedIn announced the opening of their publishing platform, Pulse. Sharing your blog posts on LinkedIn could be a great place to publish and promote your articles. I’ve published a few articles there as well with great interaction. So next time you’re on LinkedIn give Pulse a try. You never know when your posts might go viral!
11. Blog Networks
Blog networks are great places to interact and share your blog posts. Check out the following:
I get my blog posts stumbled (recommended) from time to time. StumbleUpon is a social media network that helps in discovering interesting and unique things on the web. By finding these interesting things, you can stumble them and share them with other StumbleUpon users.
Every time I publish an article, I make sure to digg it as well. Visit Digg for more details.
With the demise of Google Reader, Bloglovin’ has become the number one RSS feeder for me. Although, there are other RSS aggregators out there, be sure to claim your blog with Bloglovin‘.
Your email signature is also a great place to showcase a link to your blog. WiseStamp is a great place to create your own customized signature file. Email marketing is still popular and you don’t want to miss the opportunity of getting your blog seen.
