If you haven’t been getting the web results that you desire, then it could be that Google and other major search engines are having trouble crawling your site. By “crawling your site,” it means they have a difficult time indexing the content that is on your web page. Below are “4 Tips on Reorganizing Your Website Link Structure.”
One of the most common problems for this is poor website link structure. Just what is link structure? Well, this facet of web technology is simply the way that you handle internal linking on your site.
There are a variety of ways that you can link, but by far the most effective way is to use text links to get your point across.
Search engines are very good at crawling text, and you should use it to enhance the internal linkage on your website. But what does that mean for reorganization?
Reorganization means that you need to be using descriptive text for your links.
It isn’t a good idea for instance, to say “Click Here” and use it as your hyperlink. This is very general and gives the search engine crawlers no idea whatsoever as to what your referring too.
You could have the greatest content and website in the world, but if crawlers have a difficult time identifying what your site is about, then you are out of luck when it comes to building organic traffic.
So how do you build organic traffic through link structure and ensure the happiness of your visitors? Quite simply you should make each and every page of your website navigable. That means your user can find your home page or other topics that may be of interest on your site with ease.
One way to do this is by including text links that are specific and descriptive on each page. Ideally, you want to build an audience that comes back to you as an authority figure.
You want to keep your audience intrigued by providing a treasure chest of information on your site. You want them to know that your information is dynamic and stands out from the all the rest. Information that offers new helpful tips all of the time is key to gaining organic traffic.
Fresh, consistency, effectiveness
Fresh, consistent content and effective link structure adds value to your website.
Link structure is not the only way to run a successful website, but it is integral to all other efforts and organization that you may have in place.
So, If you are not getting the results that you want, then you need to establish a strong connection with the search engine crawlers.
Review your link structure and reevaluate the way your internal links are set up. It may take a while for you to accomplish this (if you have many pages like I do), but with all things in life it can be done if you put your mind to it! 😉
