Doing a quick blog review is important to determine if your blog is ready to be published. Below, are 5 Blogging Mistakes NOT to Make:
1. NOT checking your blog on different browsers
Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera, Netscape are all Internet browsers that many people still use. It is always a good idea to check your blog on at least 3 of these browser platforms to ensure that your blog loads fast and looks presentable.
2. NOT focusing on your blog’s niche
You need to have a unique voice in order to connect with your readers. Your blog should represent you and your business in such a way that your customers will understand. Ask yourself, what is it that your readers want to know about you and your business? Focus on what a blog really is and then base your own personal experience around it. When you focus you won’t feel overwhelmed.
3. NOT writing on a consistent basis
Your blog should have a consistent feel to it. Meaning, you should be publishing on a consistent basis so that your readers won’t forget about you. Keep a schedule to remind you when to publish.
4. NOT having a strategic plan
You should plan your blog to create unique and powerful headlines and articles. A strategic plan should involve setting up promotion, advertising, video marketing and a writing time frame to commit to each week.
5. NOT knowing your target audience
You should create a following that will connect and share your blogs story. Find out who your readers are. Why should they be reading your blog above everyone else?
You should know who you’re blogging for. What are your fans biggest questions and how can you provide them with the answers? What’s in it for them?
Follow a format that works. Write compelling headlines and attention catching openings. Use bullet and numbered lists. Use call to action closings and images to convey your message.
