Throughout my years of blogging, I’ve always kept in mind the 5 Ws to blogging. It helps me stay focused and reminds me why I started to blog in the first place. Below, I will discuss with you what the 5 W to Start a Successful Blog mean to me and hopefully help you with your own reasons to blog.
The five 5 W to Start a Successful Blog are:
* Who do I blog too?
– First thing you want to know is who is your target audience! Who will benefit from your regular postings and fresh content? Having a blog will enable you to educate your visitors as well as add value to your blog. For example: if you own a pet store, you can add posts educating your visitors on taking care of pets. What type of foods, the best products to get, and much more helpful information can be given to your customers. This will also help establish you as an expert so people will continue to come to you for help and information as well as for the products and/or services they need. Who is your target market that will benefit from your blogging? Who to market too is important in determining if your blog will be successful.
* Why should I blog?
Why start a successful blog? Only you can answer that question. Do you have a passion about something that you know can benefit someone else and in return help your business grow further? I can list hundreds of reasons why starting a blog can be beneficial to you and your business marketing. For example, have you recently received a new product and would like to showcase how it works? Also, blogging allows you to have customer interaction by allowing people to post their comments, opinions, questions, etc. for an even effective customer service. Having a blog will enable your customers and visitors to get to know you better which in turn will build trust and credibility. Your blog can become an active community attracting more and more subscribers, followers, etc. by building relationships and business success.
* What do I write about?
Write about things that interest you and that you would like to share with others. You can post photos and write about what inspired that photograph. You can also post videos of your favorite song and write about what makes it so special and why you feel others may think the same. There are hundreds if not thousands of successful blogs that are unique in many ways. Think of the things that bring you joy and share them with others. If you enjoy writing then showcase your writing skills. The choices available to you when creating your blog are limitless. With widgets, plug-ins, templates, etc. it is one of the easiest and quickest ways to build an effective, powerful website. If you encounter writer’s block there’s a solution for that too by inviting guest posts on your blog. You will be amazed at the things you can do with your own blog, even if you are technically challenged.
* When do I blog?
Personally, I blog every 3 to 4 days. However, you may want to blog on a weekly or monthly basis, it’s up to you. The goal is to remain consistent and provide quality content to your visitors so that you can create a long lasting readership for a successful blog.
* Where do I host my blog?
One of the best things about an effective successful blog is you can get one for free. You do not have to pay a professional web designer hundreds or thousands of dollars to create your business headquarters. Blogger and WordPress are two of the top blog providers. I currently host 2 of my blog(s) on both platforms, WordPress for a small fee and Blogger for free.
