Did you know that having a newsletter for your business is important? If you don’t have a newsletter, please start one as soon as possible.
Check out the following ‘7 Important Newsletter Tips for Your Business Success’:
1. How else will you keep your customers updated with news about your business?
With a newsletter you can keep your subscribers updated on current events that are happening in your business. Whether it be a new product and/or service, you can write about it in your newsletter.
2. How do you structure your newsletter?
Your email, along with your name and website URL should always be included in your newsletter for easy access. There have been cases where I could NOT find the email or even the name of the publisher to contact on their newsletter. There isn’t anything worse than trying to find contact information that for some reason is invisible to your subscribers.
3. Keep your topics interesting
Aside from informing your subscribers about new products, etc. ask yourself “what will your subscribers most like learning about?” Most importantly, “what do you want your subscribers to learn about you and your business?” Build upon those questions and work your way through the answers.
Show your personality in your writing. Interact with your subscribers. Help them when you have resources that you know will benefit them. Many subscribers may be newbies and need all the help they can get.
Be 100% committed to help your subscribers learn from your expertise.
4. Make it easy to subscribe
Put a newsletter subscription form on your website (preferably on the top of your site for easy visibility) or a link that takes a subscriber to an email page. Either way, you must have an option for your website visitors. Check out Aweber and build your own customized newsletter, it’s easy and affordable. With Aweber, you can also add a terrific script tailored to your website featuring a subscription box. Check out my subscription box (created with Aweber) located on the top right side of this blog.
5. Offer Freebies to your subscribers
What can you offer your subscribers for signing up to your newsletter? Adding a freebie is always a nice touch! You can offer a free eBook, a free product, a series of tutorials, a coaching session, etc. Your subscribers will love that! Visit LinkVehicle for great offers to add to your newsletter.
6. How often should you send out a newsletter?
There’s really no concrete answer to this question. It really all depends on your preference.
Personally, I like to submit my newsletter twice a week to my subscribers. However, if I have something of value (that my subscribers can benefit from) which has a deadline and cannot wait, then I’ll share that as well. You might do it differently. Again, find out what works for you and your business. Make it clear up front about the number of times they will receive your newsletter. You might include this piece of information on your ‘thank you’ sign up page or on your subscription box. The choice is yours to make.
Adding a disclaimer to your newsletter is very important. You want your subscribers to know up front what to expect from your newsletter.
Always follow the rules and guidelines when posting to your newsletter. For example, never insult people or put them down, this is known as flaming. Focus on how you can help others achieve their goals. Your newsletter should provide interesting articles with tips that a subscriber will find valuable to their needs. Your goal is to gain subscribers and keep them interested not scare them away.
You want to start a newsletter with these rules so that you can take care of other important matters concerning your business.
Also, do not spam. You will not gain anything by it. Spamming is looked upon as annoyance and is illegal. Find subscribers by inserting a subscription opt-in box into your website (see tip 3 above). Let subscribers decide on their own whether they WANT to opt-in and subscribe to your newsletter.
Remember, give of yourself and get involved. Have your subscribers contact you whenever they need a question answered, have comments, etc. Get to know them and they will get to know you and trust you; which is an important element to cherish.
Your subscribers are also customers and you want to treat them with the utmost respect. Build a relationship with your subscribers and treasure it. Subscribers are gold to your business!
Finally, never ever share their email address with third party companies. Always respect your subscribers email privacy.
Effective email marketing with a newsletter is key to business success. Don’t go without it!
