Two Different Types
There are two different types of email autoresponder series you can set up – both from a profit-pulling stance. One comes before the sale, warming up the prospect – and the other comes after the sale, ensuring customer satisfaction and progressing the buyer onward to future product sales.
When your visitor lands on your blog or opt-in page, you’re probably going to give them something in exchange for the ability to contact them via email. Sometimes it’s an instant download – like a free report – and other times, it’s an on-going series of communications, such as a 2-week tips series or course.
If your email series is a pre-sale series, then it’s important that you focus your content on the problem-solving element of your product. Hit on the desperation and paint a picture of the euphoric feeling they’ll get once that problem is solved.
Your pre-sale series should be packed with value. Why? Because to the customer, they’ll instantly be thinking, “Wow! If he or she gives away THIS much value in a free series – imagine what will be in the paid product!”
Furthermore, a post-sale email autoresponder series should tackle the implementation process. Customers need hand holding and motivation to apply the strategies and tactics you’ve set forth in your report and/or course.
That’s true with any niche topic – whether you’re motivating them to succeed online, lose weight, prep for survival, apply anti-aging techniques, or save their relationship. It’s all the same – they have to take the tips you have shared with them and put them into action to see results.
Introduce Additional Products
As your post-sale email series evolves, begin introducing them to additional products and services that you believe can benefit them in some way. It should be something that nicely complements the original product sale.
You might promote something of your own, which – assuming they enjoyed your first product – will be easy to convert them on. Or, you can act as an affiliate marketer and promote something someone else has to sell.
Over Share & Over Deliver
Therefore, always continue to share pure value and over-deliver quality content in each of your email autoresponders. Whether it’s a pre-sale or post-sale part of your series, value and a connection with your audience are most important.
