The Internet was originally all about text content. You could write content on your blog and share the links to it and see a nice engagement on your efforts. But these days, simple texts often don’t have the same effect as it did before.
It’s better if you can pair your content with other media formats such as images or videos. Images in your blogs and social networking posts help your content get shared more often. Furthermore, it looks very appealing to the eye when someone visits your site.
Marketers in every niche can find images that fit their target audience well. Those who have blogs, want to inspire and motivate or relay humor to their niche audience. Furthermore, it looks very appealing to the eye when someone visits a site that uses images to the type of their demographic on social networks.
Images can be used in the form of simple quote posters, where a quote is pasted over the image itself. Or, you can create a shareable infographic to put in your timeline so that everyone else sees it in their feed.
You don’t want to share nothing but images on social networking sites. They’re great for organic traffic, but you can exhaust them if you fail to share any valuable content and only try to connect with a picture.
Images are great for posting in your blog (and when the link to that blog post is shared on a social network, the platform usually pulls the image from your blog to show up alongside your link).
They’re also great for Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest to name a few. You’ll want to work on sizing your images just right so that the entire image can be seen in the share and you’re not just seeing a small portion of it.
In a sea of nothing but text content, consumers are naturally drawn to an image when they’re scrolling down in a site and see a picture. The more colorful it is, the more it will catch their eye.
Don’t feel like every picture has to be a professional stock image, either. While you can certainly buy images on iStockPhoto and DepositPhoto to use (or access free ones on Morguefile.com), personal snapshots are also appealing because they want to know what you’ll say about it. Brand your URL
Make sure you brand your URL on the images that you share within your post. Of course, the post itself can have a link in it, but placing the URL on the image helps with branding for their future visits.
